Product Description: This video documents the relocation of Japanese Americans from the west coast of the United States to internment camps in the interior. Shows quarters at relocation centers in Arkansas and at Heart Mountain, Wyo. The Nisei attend schools, hold elections, and produce crops (under irrigation) at the centers. Released Nisei work in a sugar beet field, on an Illinois farm, in a machine shop, a candy factory, etc. Nisei soldiers run through an obstacle course at Camp Shelby, Miss. Includes parts of three newsreels: Gen. Mark Clark decorates the 100th Inf. Bn. in Italy; Nisei troops of the 442nd Combat Team rescue a "lost" battalion of the 141st Inf. Reg't in France; Nisei troops fire artillery in France.
